Pear Crisp

Tis the season for all things Fall, and this warm, cozy, and yummy pear crisp will leave you craving cozy sweaters, PSL, and chunky scarves. Baked cinnamon pears, with a homemade streusel on top is a staple in Fall baking, plus as it bakes, your home will smell like a fall scented candle. Not mad at it!!


For the Pears:

  • 4 Bartlett pears, peeled and sliced medium thickness
  • 1 tsp tapioca flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Apple pie spice Or: 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp nutmeg. 1 tsp clove
  • 1 tbsp oil

For the Streusel Topping:

  • 120g (1 cup) all-purpose flour
  • 100g (½ cup) cane sugar
  • 100g (½ cup) brown sugar
  • 5 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon or apple pie spice


  1. Preheat the oven to 350º and grease a square 8x8" pan
  2. Start by making the crisp and set in the fridge for 20 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, peel the pears and slice thin. Toss into a bowl and mix with the 1 tsp tapioca flour, oil, and spices. Place into an oven-safe dish.
  4. Take out the streusel mixture and coat the entire top of the pears with the crumb mixture.
  5. Place the dish into the oven and bake at 350º for 25 minutes.
  6. Take out and let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Streusel Topping:

  1. Combine the flour, sugar, and cinnamon together.
  2. Melt the butter and pour into the sugar mixture and whisk to combine.
  3. Whisk to mix until it forms a crumbly dough.
